Today, Rep. Jamaal Bowman officially launched his re-election campaign for New York’s 16th congressional district. Justice Democrats is proud to once again endorse this progressive champion for working class families.

Jamaal is facing a moderate Democrat opponent backed by AIPAC and Trump donors in the June primary election, and Axios has called him the Squad member “facing the biggest threat” of losing his seat in Congress this year.

AIPAC has made it their mission to unseat Jamaal this year for his courage to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and his progressive record. They recruited moderate career politician George Latimer, one of the few Democrats in office who continued to defend disgraced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo after sexual harassment allegations, to challenge him in this majority-minority district.

Latimer is being bankrolled by AIPAC and even had a fundraising event hosted by a major Trump donor last weekend. It’s clear he would rather stand with MAGA supporters and turn a blind eye to genocide than fight for progress, justice, and equity for the hard-working people in NY-16.
