It's Liz FitzGerald with the ACLU. I'm reaching out to ask you to become an ACLU member before our deadline on January 25 – but first, I want to tell you three big reasons why we need your support in 2024:

1. With the presidential election coming up this year, our voting rights team is already facing a dangerous wave of anti-voter legislation across the country – and we're counting on our members to fund our fight against these attacks.
2. There are over 20 states that have banned abortion early in pregnancy, and the ACLU needs your support to connect folks facing abortion-related charges with defense attorneys.
3. As we continue to confront an onslaught of anti-LGBTQ legislation, our members will be vital in the fight to strike down unconstitutional, discriminatory state laws.

The ACLU was built for tough moments like these. We have a nationwide network of attorneys, organizers, and staff who are ready to jump into action whenever our rights are threatened – but we must also have enough resources to fund these fights.
