Dear John,
Last week in Washington, D.C., thousands of people proclaimed their unwavering commitment to protecting the unborn at the 51st annual March for Life.
The U.S. Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 was not the final word in the effort to protect the unborn. The Court put the issue back into the hands of the elected representatives of the people and there is still much work to be done. Not only are there many threats to unborn life in the United States, but around the world!
At the end of 2023, the Secretariat of the World Health Organization (WHO), an agency of the United Nations, recommended that the WHO executive board enter into official collaboration with the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR).
The Center for Reproductive Rights is a radical pro-abortion group committed to promoting abortion as an international human right. They also hold a view of human sexuality and gender that is at odds with scientific evidence and biblical truth.
By entering into an official relationship with the CRR, the WHO would not only be endorsing the group's actions and mission, but they would be advancing their anti-family, anti-life agenda globally.
In partnership with other pro-life organizations, FRC collaborated on a letter to the Director-General of the WHO, outlining major areas of concern and urging him to oppose having the WHO give any official status to this radical pro-abortion organization.
FRC is not only watching for new threats to the family, which are emerging weekly, we are responding and countering these threats to your family and your freedoms. Will you partner with FRC to protect unborn life both at home and abroad?
GIVE NOW
The World Health Organization's executive board is meeting this week to decide whether or not to enter into an official partnership with the Center for Reproductive Rights. But this isn't the only concerning thing that the WHO is considering.
For months, FRC has been sounding the alarm about the World Health Organization's global agenda.
In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization called for a new international pandemic treaty and began drafting a document in 2022.
However, because the U.S. Constitution requires that all treaties be ratified by the U.S. Senate, the WHO relabeled this "treaty" into the "WHO Pandemic Agreement" or "Accord" -- enabling the Biden administration to sign on to the "agreement" unilaterally without Senatorial advice and consent.
If you look under the surface, this "pandemic preparedness agreement" serves as a vehicle to reduce American sovereignty, impose media surveillance and scientific censorship, and promote global population control, which will include abortion access. If passed, independent member nations would be forced to adhere to the policies flowing from this agreement, directly undermining their national sovereignty and ultimately impacting Christian families and their ability to live according to their biblical faith.
As FRC and other like-minded people have sounded the alarm, the WHO has taken notice.
They are now actively stating that any claim that "this agreement will undermine a country's sovereignty by giving power to the World Health Organization" is "fake news, lies, conspiracy theories, misinformation and disinformation" and that countries should "actively counter these false narratives."
The World Health Organization is not only working to advance a radical, left-wing, globalist agenda, but they are blatantly telling nations to ignore conservative opposition to their agenda as "fake news."
The U.S. Department for Health and Human Services opened a public comment period for people to share their opinions regarding aspects of this global pandemic agreement. Over the past several weeks, FRC's legislative affiliate, FRC Action, led an effort encouraging citizens to file comments voicing their concerns about the document. We also filed our own comment urging the Biden administration to reject the WHO's pandemic agreement.
The WHO member nations will vote on this agreement at the 77th World Health Assembly, which will occur May 27 to June 1 in Geneva.
FRC is working with members of Congress to expose the threats contained in the Pandemic Accord and stop it, even though the Biden administration is pushing for its adoption.
We must pray that the Lord would keep this agreement from getting the votes it needs to go into effect, and we must continue raising awareness about the threat the WHO poses to the unborn, religious liberty, and our national sovereignty.
Will you join FRC in sounding the alarm about this global power grab?
DONATE TODAY
Although the mainstream media has largely ignored the WHO power grab, FRC is committed to bringing light to this important issue and educating believers as to why it matters from a biblical worldview.
We are also working on Capitol Hill to stop the United States from funding the WHO and to minimize the WHO's reach due to its clear ideological bias.
As Jim Roguski said on Washington Watch last week, "You get as much tyranny as you allow."
At Family Research Council, we aren't willing to allow any tyranny.
For over 40 years, we have stood resolute in our commitment to advancing faith, family, and freedom in our nation's policies and culture. Although the threats have changed, our mission has stayed the same.
Thank you for joining us in defending the truth in Washington and around the world for the sake of our republic and future generations!
