Dear john,

Since launching my petition, now signed by hundreds of residents, I have written to the Schools Minister, Damian Hinds MP, to show your support for this campaign. And to put on the pressure for urgent steps to be taken to provide a long-term solution to the issues at Bramhall High. I also welcomed Minister Baroness Barran to the school last month and used the opportunity to show her the poor condition that the school is in.

Due to the hard work of the headteacher, staff and learners at Bramhall High School, all pupils returned at the start of this term and are continuing to receive a full education. However, that doesn’t escape from the simple fact that we need a long-term plan for Bramhall High School and a full rebuild. Rather than repairs which will only provide a short-term ‘stickingplaster’ solution.

Already Cheadle Constituency has seen schools such as Thorn Grove Primary rebuilt as part of the national Schools Rebuilding Programme. With Moorfield Primary also selected as one of the latest 239 schools that will be rebuilt or substantially refurbished as part of the scheme. We now need to see Bramhall High School urgently added to the list of schools.

I will continue to keep you updated on my work as we fight to get Bramhall High School the rebuild it needs.
