Team,

This week, Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, an aid package designed to mitigate the social and economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The Act expands on Medicaid and unemployment benefits, orders free coronavirus testing, and mandates paid sick leave and childcare for certain employees.

Shockingly, Arizona Representative Andy Biggs voted AGAINST this legislation. Why? Because it includes provisions for same-sex couples.

As GLAAD Chief Communications Officer Rich Ferraro told Newsweek, "Representative Biggs' constituents, his wife Cindy Biggs, and their family should be ashamed and angry that during a national crisis when Americans are coming together, Representative Biggs is busy continuing his long campaign to harm LGBTQ families and also using his unethical relationships with anti-LGBTQ hate groups like the Family Research Council to inaccurately claim this relief bill would 'redefine family.'"

We need to make our voices heard and tell Andy Biggs that Arizonans deserve leaders who will fight for the health, safety, and equality of ALL Arizonans. Will you stand with Arizona Democrats and the LGBTQ community in denouncing Biggs' vote?

Biggs' homophobic stance does not align with Arizona's values of equality and inclusion. Let's make sure he knows it.
