MESSAGE FROM CATHERINE
Dear John,
Today, San Francisco announced the
donation of nearly 100,000 units of personal protective equipment for
frontline healthcare workers that I worked to coordinate with my
neighbor Ryan and his company Flexport.
When Ryan reached out to ask how he
could help stop this pandemic, I was reminded again of the strength,
resilience, and compassion of our community. I was thrilled
— but not surprised — to
hear that Flexport is stepping up to deliver thousands of much needed
surgical gowns, gloves, masks, and more to our local efforts to
flatten the curve. To donate bulk supplies, visit http://Give2SF.org.
You can read more about the donation in the
San Francisco Chronicle here.
I am also starting a campaign to
have neighbors reach out to members of our vulnerable communities.
We’ve set up a virtual phone bank to have neighbors call neighbors to
ask how they are doing during the City’s shelter in place order. I
want to make sure that we all have everything we need during these
difficult times.
If you are interested in volunteering to
call your neighbors, click on this link and we will send you more
information. We will be doing training sessions and will provide you
all of the information you need.
Confronting this pandemic takes
bravery, teamwork, and compassion at every step. To all the neighbors
who are doing everything you can to make sure our community remains
healthy, vibrant, and resilient, know that we see you, we appreciate
you, and we couldn’t get through this without you. When we all step up, there's no challenge
too great for San Francisco.
As always, please stay safe and
reach out to my office if you have any concerns or need any
assistance. We can be reached at 415-554-7752 or at [email protected].
Warm regards,
Catherine
