Despite a proposal by progressives to stop dark money in democratic
primaries, the DNC refused to even discuss it. That’s after a wide range
of big dark money spenders, including crypto tycoons, AIPAC, and a wide
range of right-wingers and even “liberal” organizations, dumped record
amounts of money into Democratic primaries. All to stop progressives.

We have out-organized big money to win many important races, but we have
to change the status quo of unlimited dark money in primaries.

Dark money will likely be an even bigger factor in Democratic primaries
this year, particularly in districts where corporate Democrats are running
against progressives. Especially after AIPAC said it will spend $100
million against the Squad and any progressives who criticized Israel’s
relentless bombing campaigns against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Here’s just one example: Jamaal Bowman is not only facing AIPAC’s big
money in his heated primary in New York against a corporate Democrat — a
big Republican donor who donated to Trump, the RNC, Lindsey Graham, and
Elise Stefanik just announced a fundraiser for the corporate Democrat in
the race. It’s the entire political establishment against progressives.

It’s critical that we change the rules of the Democratic Party so there’s
an equal playing field for primaries. Our Revolution is doing the work of
electing progressive slates to Democratic Party committees so that we can
transform the Party from the inside. And we’re organizing to re-elect
progressives like Rashida Tlaib and Jamaal Bowman, and elect Barbara Lee
to the U.S. Senate, because we won’t let AIPAC and corporate Democrats
roll back our progress.
