Republicans hold a razor-thin majority in the New Hampshire state House, and Democrats are fighting to maintain control of the Michigan House by a similarly tiny majority -- which makes the stakes in these races even higher.

Polls are now open in New Hampshire, and Cathleen Fountain (HD-Coös 1) and Edith Tucker (HD-Coös 6) are both on the ballot. Democrats flipped four state House seats, but Republicans still hold a majority. If Cathleen flips this Republican-held seat and Edith protects her race for an open blue seat, it will bring the Republican majority to a single-seat advantage.
