Dear John,
During these unprecedented times, Americans have committed to stopping the spread of COVID-19. Limiting exposure to the virus through social distancing, closing non-essential businesses and switching to virtual platforms to perform work duties has become the new norm. As Americans take the necessary steps to keep their families and friends safe, we ask the federal government to take into consideration the overall toll small businesses face during these uncertain times.
According to the latest reporting from the National Small Business Association, 47% of small business owners are concerned about the negative impact their businesses face due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, 49% have reported a reduced customer demand for their services. Small business are the driving force of the economic engine and they need your support.
We call on members of Congress to address three major concerns:
- Individual worker compensation
- Small business support
- Mortgage and immediate debt payment relief
The immediate response to address the health crisis has been vital, however, the economic response moving forward is just as important. Immediate relief to people and businesses who need it most.
