To prevent cruelty to animals, we promote enacting and enforcing good public policies. To enact good laws, we must elect good lawmakers, and that’s why we remind voters which candidates care about our issues and which ones don’t. If you’d like to unsubscribe, click here.

Dear John,

Our online event about FDA Modernization is just two days away—Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. I wanted to send you a reminder and ask for your involvement in this critical 2024 campaign.

Last year, we formulated and shepherded to passage the FDA Modernization Act 2.0—the most important bill ever enacted to curtail animal testing. The measure eliminated an 84-year-old mandate for animal testing to screen new drugs, allowing the use of non-animal testing methods for screening drugs to determine if they work as promised and are safe for patients. With it, Congress passed the first major anti-animal-testing bill in more than a half century, and it did so with uncommon unanimity.

A year after the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 became law, however, it is apparent that the FDA is stonewalling. And while the biotech community and other scientists are calling the law a marker in a dramatic turn away from animal testing and toward human-based screening methods, the FDA is stuck in the 20th century.

That’s why we're hosting this free educational webinar. Our purpose is to chart a course to see the adoption of a new model of drug development and to bring Congress, the FDA, and the pharmaceutical industry along.

In 2024, we'll be working to make sure that beagles, primates, and other animals get out of the labs in favor of 21st-century strategies grounded in human biology. Please join us to learn how you can make a difference for animals.

We know you want to stop the unnecessary and inhumane use of beagles, primates and other animals in labs. And we need you to make this reality. Will you help us convince the FDA and drug manufacturers to adopt modern scientific testing methods? If so, this webinar is for you.

DATE: Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024
TIME: 8 P.M. ET/5 P.M. PT

Space is limited. Register today to guarantee your spot.

Registrants who are unable to attend the live event will receive a link to the recorded version. Please register to ensure you receive this link and can view the webinar at your convenience.
