Yesterday, Summer organized a press conference with reproductive health champions up and down the ballot and the PA Democratic Party on the 51st anniversary of Roe, slamming Trump’s abortion ban and Republicans’ ongoing attempt to criminalize health care and even go after our birth control!
But here’s something crucial we need to understand: this isn’t just about defeating Trump’s ban and the extremist Republican party up and down the ballot. It’s about stopping the capture of our courts and our elections by right-wing billionaires and dark money networks in the business of selling out our freedoms in exchange for control of our democracy. Because it’s no coincidence that the same anti-choice billionaire Republican donor who flew Justice Alito on private jets to luxury vacations before he overturned Roe gave a right-wing PAC a million dollars to spend on racist attacks to stop Summer from fighting for abortion justice in Congress.
This is our moment to finally take our democracy back from the patriarchal movement that has spent six decades so scared of us controlling our bodies, our health care, and our futures that they’ve rigged our democracy to make us feel powerless against them.
