John,
At Love146, our everyday work revolves around one thing: ending child trafficking and exploitation. Our staff often have antennas up for stories of trafficking that show up, from news stories ([link removed]) to entertainment ([link removed]) .

Have you read Demon Copperhead?

It’s a popular contemporary novel that lots of folks have been talking about over the past couple years. Some of us at Love146 took a read through this book on our own time, and spotted several cases of trafficking unfolding in the story.

4 CASES OF TRAFFICKING IN DEMON COPPERHEAD ([link removed])

To us, these trafficking situations jumped off the pages. Maybe they did to you too. Though we’re glad to see realistic depictions of trafficking, the phrase ‘human trafficking’ is never found in Demon Copperhead. Because society’s picture of trafficking is often narrow, many of the survivors we’ve worked with don’t initially identify that what they’ve experienced is trafficking victimization.

And so, as thousands of people read and discuss this book, we don’t want to miss the opportunity to name the 4 cases of trafficking we see in Demon Copperhead. (We’ve included questions for book clubs or individual readers, throughout.)

I wanted to pass this on, in case you’ve read it or know somebody who has! Check it out here. ([link removed])
