John, today is the 51st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that recognized a women’s right to her own bodily autonomy.

Sadly, today this anniversary is also a critical reminder that the far-right is a foundational threat to our core rights.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe and stripped women’s constitutional abortion rights, I jumped into action as President Biden's Under Secretary of Defense to fight for women in the military: I am proud to have secured three weeks of leave and travel expenses for servicemembers who seek an abortion.

And I’m not done fighting. In Congress, I will fight to codify abortion rights in our Constitution so they can never be taken away again.
