Friends — 51 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that abortion is a constitutionally protected right.

Less than two years after the Supreme Court’s ultraconservative majority overturned Roe v. Wade, it’s clearer than ever that ending Roe was only the start of Republicans’ attacks on reproductive rights.

From 21 states banning or severely restricting abortion to the conservative push to take abortion pill mifepristone off the market, reproductive rights have not been more at risk since before Roe.

Here in New Mexico, we fought and organized to elect pro-choice legislators who took an archaic abortion ban off the books. I’m proud to have been part of that effort and know that women in New Mexico now have their rights protected.

But Republicans won't stop until they pass a federal abortion ban. This November, they could take back the Senate, hold their House majority, and elect a GOP president to ban abortion in every state.

Now that I have a challenger backed by Mitch McConnell’s allies, who has already poured $500,000 of her funds into this race, we need to fight harder than ever to keep New Mexico and the Senate blue.

On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, will you support my re-election campaign so I can keep fighting to codify the right to abortion into federal law? Defending our Senate Majority and expanding reproductive rights has never been more important.

Today is a solemn remembrance of the fundamental rights Donald Trump, Senate Republicans, and the Supreme Court ripped away from millions of Americans. But it is also a symbol of hope for what we can do when we come together to protect reproductive rights. Thank you for your support.
