I wanted to reach out with a brief update and let you know that we DID hit our weekly fundraising goal last night! I am grateful to have your support.
Yesterday I emailed you about the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the dangers we’ve witnessed since the 1973 SCOTUS decision was overturned.
Abortion rights are currently protected in New York, but extremist forces are pushing for a national abortion ban in Congress. Nick LaLota has shown time and again that he’s with these extremists. He joined a caucus that supports a national ban, and this weekend he endorsed Donald Trump for president.
That’s why this race is so important, and why I’m so proud to have you with me. We’re going to win back reproductive rights, but the only path forward is together. Thank you for making it possible.

It’s been 51 years tomorrow since Roe v. Wade granted reproductive freedom to all women, and just under two years since the Supreme Court took those rights away.
In that time the GOP has dismantled women’s rights, some hospitals have closed their maternity wards, doctors have been threatened with lawsuits and prison time, maternal mortality has skyrocketed, families have been devastated, and futures ruined.
My opponent, Nick LaLota, applauded the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe . In Congress, he voted to punish doctors who provide reproductive care and to restrict abortion access for members of the military and their families.
Today, there are an estimated 27 million women in America who live in states with abortion bans, and we know the GOP is working toward a national ban.
Abortion bans not only deny women the right to make their own decisions about their bodies and their futures – they can be deadly.
The American people know this, and the overwhelming majority of voters believe abortion should remain legal. Despite this, my opponent has proudly endorsed Donald Trump, the man who repeatedly brags that he “took down Roe.”
In lockstep with Trump, LaLota is even part of a caucus that has proposed a nationwide abortion ban, without exceptions for rape, incest, or a woman’s well-being.
Flipping this seat and giving Democrats the House majority next year is our first line of defense.

I’ve been working in Suffolk County to protect access to reproductive care since 1997, and I will continue fighting for reproductive freedom when I’m in Congress, because everyone has the right to make their own decisions about their body and their future.
Since Roe v. Wade was struck down, bodily autonomy and women’s reproductive rights have been under attack across the nation. But we can put an end to all of that when Democrats retake the House majority and, together with a Democratic Senate and President Biden, restore Roe as the law of the land.
Please stand with me and let’s put a stop to LaLota, Trump, and every GOP extremist who wants to rob women of their basic human rights.
