Today, we should be marking the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that codified reproductive rights into law. 

Instead, we’re still dealing with the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision that overturned Roe and effectively made abortion illegal for millions of women across the nation. 

State by state, we’ve seen GOP-led legislatures and conservative governors enact extreme total bans on abortion. We’ve seen women be forced to flee their own state in order to receive care. And we’ve seen untold emotional anguish as folks face a new reality of reproductive care in America. 

As for Republicans at the national level, we’ve seen the same disregard for women’s rights - and it probably won’t surprise you that my opponent Ken Calvert has been complicit in it all.

​​Calvert is on the record voting NO on the Right to Contraception Act, NO on Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, and NO on the Women’s Health Protection Act. Not to mention the fact that he voted just a few months ago to make Mike Johnson Speaker, one of the most extreme anti-choice Republicans in the House. 

This November is an important chance to send a message that we are ready to take back the majority and protect our constitutional rights. Lives are at stake, John.
