51 years ago today, Roe v. Wade affirmed that access to reproductive healthcare was a constitutional right and enshrined a woman’s right to control her own body. 

But in 2022, an ideologically-driven Supreme Court stripped away these fundamental rights, endangering the health and freedom of millions of Americans.

It’s clear that overturning Roe was just the beginning. Extremist Republican lawmakers are pushing abortion bans in states across the country – even so-called “moderate” Lori Chavez-DeRemer voted for a bill that would attempt to strip reproductive health care from women. 

The writing is on the wall: Republicans won’t stop until there is a national abortion ban in every state, including Oregon. That’s why it’s critical to reclaim a Democratic House Majority and elect pro-choice leaders – like Janelle – who will fight to protect our right to choose.
