Friend, it's Tim Alexander, and when I launched my first political campaign, I made major news headlines like these:

I was brutalized and arrested by police on false charges in a case of mistaken identity – and it changed my life forever.

John, I had to overcome immense hardship as a young black man growing up in the 70s, but it truly made me stronger. Before I get into the details about how this eventually inspired me to run for Congress, could you chip in to help me be a principled voice for South Jersey in D.C.?

In a twisted story, I was rushed on the side of the street by three white officers who began accusing me of crimes I didn't commit. After shooting at me, they physically assaulted me, took my vehicle, and arrested me. A major legal battle ensued, and I ended up having to take an out-of-court settlement for damages – while the offenders got off nearly scott-free.
Despite the cruelty and harm I faced from bad officers, some inspirational words from my grandfather rang in my ears after: "effective change comes from within." "You can protest, or you can go on the inside and actually be the one to make the changes."

I didn't want any more young Black men having the same fate as me – so I worked my way up the ranks, identifying and transforming institutional imbalances when it came to enforcing the law in South Jersey. After over 27 years of service, I took things a step further when I became a civil rights attorney, providing equitable legal representation and justice for ALL people.

Even during tough times, I maintained my identity and my integrity – and I'm ready to take that valuable attribute to the people's house in Washington D.C.

Meanwhile, my opponent Jeff Van Drew, abandoned his identity in Congress in a desperate grab for political power. When we elected him in 2018 based on his "Democratic values," he swiftly abandoned them and switched parties to follow the MAGA Agenda – leaving the people of South Jersey with the short end of the stick.

John, you deserve better than party-switching Van Drew representing you in Congress. I'm going to stay true to my identity and make sure that our South Jersey values are put first in Congress. Can you join me with a contribution to my people-first campaign today?
