Today marks the anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling, which guaranteed women across the country the freedom of choice for nearly 50 years.

I don’t need to remind you about what the Trump-appointed justices did in 2022. But I do want to reiterate something I’ve said before: Politicians should never interfere with a woman’s personal health care decisions.

When GOP extremists dared to celebrate the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we took note. Since then, abortion rights have been on the ballot numerous times across the country, and the pro-choice position has won every single time.

I know Arizona will be the next state to enshrine the right to an abortion in our state constitution and reject the barbaric restrictions Republicans are pushing for.

And make no mistake, I will continue to defend reproductive freedom and veto any anti-abortion legislation that makes it to my desk.
