Friend, Roe v. Wade was decided on January 22, 1973 — exactly 51 years ago. Today, my daughters are growing up with fewer reproductive rights than women had half a century ago.

In states like Florida, we're facing extreme, invasive, and downright cruel abortion bans. Far-right lawmakers are coming up with more and more ways to target patients, attack doctors and nurses, criminalize health care, and undermine our right to privacy. And, in Washington, extremists like my opponent, Rick Scott, are working every day to ban abortions nationwide.

I refuse to let these radicals push our country any further backward. I'm running for Senate to win a pro-choice majority that will restore abortion rights nationwide and stop these extremist bans. If we want to live in a country with a strong democracy, where our civil rights are protected, where all of us have the chance to achieve our American dream, where we are truly free, we must restore reproductive rights.

States across our country are passing increasingly radical abortion bans. Our only option to protect our freedoms is to retake control of Congress and pass legislation to codify reproductive rights once and for all.

Polling data shows that our campaign is already tied with Rick Scott, and the momentum on the ground points to a huge blue wave.
