Since the disastrous dismantling of Roe v. Wade, we've seen too many heartbreaking stories of people in crisis. Individuals seeking medical care are put at major risk of injury or illness or forced to travel hundreds of miles to states like Oregon where abortion is still legal.

More than 20 states now outlaw or severely restrict abortion, with bills working their way through state legislatures that would criminalize doctors, patients, and those aiding women in getting to states where the procedure is legal.

Some extremist Republicans have even proposed making the death penalty a punishment for abortion or miscarriage.

Seven states have now voted on the issue since the Dobbs decision in 2022, and abortion rights have won every single time. Republicans know the majority of Americans oppose bans, but they are stopping at nothing to get around the will of the people.

Abortion restrictions are downright dangerous.

Those with non-viable pregnancies in states like Texas have been left waiting for their health to deteriorate enough that it puts their life at risk before they can legally receive abortion care.

Doctors can face loss of their license to practice, and even felony criminal charges.

Some places have even proposed a bounty hunter system to catch and prosecute anyone who aids a patient in getting an abortion.

And now, more health care providers are choosing not to practice in abortion-restricted states, further exacerbating reproductive health care access in rural and red areas.

The MAGA-right tries to make it harder to access abortion or keep it off the ballot, but I will always stand up against a national abortion ban and always fight for the right to choose.

Thanks for standing with me,

Suzanne
