John, today marks the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade – the landmark Supreme Court decision that guaranteed the right to choose and ensured that reproductive rights are protected by law.

But in June 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade – opening the door to statewide bans and subsequent rulings that have already harmed and will continue to harm Black people disproportionately. To make matters worse…
Business Insider Headline: Trump boasts he's proud about his role in overturning Roe V. Wade, the issue that has become ballot-box poison for Republicans.
Did you read that headline? It's clear that right now, Trump is attempting to make a mockery of himself again. Yet, this time, the messaging is gaining traction, enough even to secure the Iowa caucus. Folks, this points to our worst fear… that he will become the front-running Republican candidate, which is a direct threat to reproductive rights.

Now, remember that we've been through this cycle of ridiculous news before, and our commitment to supporting organizations making a difference has never stopped. In the past, we've proudly raised funds for the Afiya Center, and now, we're proud to do it again. Continuing in this spirit, our current initiative, in honor of the Roe v. Wade anniversary, is aimed at fighting for complete freedom for Black people by eradicating systemic oppression in reproductive rights.

The Afiya Center is doing essential work for our communities regarding reproductive freedom. Make a donation of $5 or more to split a donation between the Afiya Center and BLM.

Black women, trans, and gender-non-conforming people already face significant barriers to obtaining quality reproductive health care, and when abortion access is restricted– in this case, it is being outlawed nationwide– guess what happens? The number of unsafe, at-home abortions increases.

The overturning of Roe became one of several decisions that are designed to try and control our autonomy and sustain a racist system that targets Black communities, which only contributes to the cycle of systemic inequality.

Knowing that liberation will never come from this Court, we must push forward and continue the work we've been doing together. Access to abortion is health care, access to safe abortion is equity, and access to safe abortion is racial justice.

Will you join us in this fight by splitting a donation with the Afiya Center and BLM to fuel the efforts of fighting for reproductive justice? >>
