Today marks the 51st anniversary of when Roe v. Wade became the law of the land, which secured the right of every American to make their own reproductive health care choices.

For decades, extremist politicians worked to undermine women’s reproductive rights, and in 2022, the right-wing Supreme Court made the disastrous decision to overturn Roe — taking away a fundamental freedom and upending decades of precedent.

Across the nation, millions of people were immediately stripped of their reproductive rights, and their health and safety were put at risk. And ever since then, the far-right’s attacks haven’t stopped.

High-ranking members of the GOP have proposed legislation to further roll back reproductive freedom, and House Republicans even unveiled a rules package that would permanently ban public funds from going to organizations providing critical reproductive health care services.

As the first Democratic woman to represent Illinois’ 13th Congressional District, Nikki is committed to protecting reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy.

But Nikki can't do this work alone. To pass the laws needed to protect a woman’s right to choose, we need to make sure Democrats retake the House majority.
