Hello,
In this week’s edition, I address the problem with believing life is meaningless — and how to circumvent it. Then, I talk with doctors Scott McMahon and Ritchie Shoemake about their research into Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and its potential causes. From the archives, I revisit a conversation I had with Matthew McConaughey.
Advice
You Can Be More Than You Are
If someone believes life is meaningless, it is important they understand why they think that. Certainly, they have all kinds of reasons. Life is hard. It is a crucifixion, so it is no wonder they think that. They are suffering and adrift, and they have their reasons. Those reasons must be taken seriously, but then they must understand that despite those reasons, there is more to them than they think.
When people take small steps forward, all of a sudden, this little modicum of potential starts to expand. I believe there is no limit to that expansion because, in some sense, we are a weird combination of finite and infinite. We are related to the infinite in some manner, obviously, because the infinite exists. But I do not know in what manner that is, and I do not know what the limits are.
If you were truly the best person you could be, if you decided to live by truth and to aim at the good, if you put your whole heart and soul into it, and if you staked your life on doing that, who could you be? No one knows. You know perfectly well you could be far more than you are, and you do not know what the upper limit of that is. We certainly do not know what the upper limit would be if there were lots of people doing that. There is plenty of suffering and misery in the world; it is no wonder people get bitter. We have no shortage of ingenuity and possibility, and if we were serious about making things less wretched than they are, who knows what miracles we could pull off.

Is There Reason To Be Hopeful About The Future?
I believe that if you fail to say what you know to be true, you corrupt the world. You corrupt being. If you lie, you corrupt being. Corrupted being is hell, and if we all lie enough, then we have hell. Whether we all lie enough to bring about hell is actually dependent in much larger part than you might desire to admit. It is dependent on your choice.

80% Of Houses Have This Issue | Dr. Scott McMahon & Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker | EP 415
This week, I speak with Dr. Scott McMahon and Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker. We discuss their research into CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. These two doctors believe many other illnesses and syndromes such as fibromyalgia, obesity, and even depression might actually be caused by mutations in common mold as a response to our own efforts to live in a hypoallergenic world.
