Friend, today, on Monday, Jan. 22, we should be celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. Instead, we're mourning the current state of abortion rights in our country, and especially in my home state of Texas.

What's happening in Texas right now is a tragedy. The worst thing about it is that it was deliberately engineered by Republican politicians like Ted Cruz, who have passed more and more restrictive abortion laws in Texas and across the country.

They're not going to stop until they've banned abortion nationwide. This attack on women's freedom is a big part of why I'm running to replace Ted Cruz in the Senate – to make sure a national abortion ban never happens.

Defending the right to choose is on the ballot in November, and it’s our job to do everything in our power to defend women’s rights in Texas and across the country. Please, sign the petition to defend abortion now. I’m collecting 10,000 signatures today and I want yours to be one of them →
