John — Today marks what should have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
Despite decades of access to safe and legal abortion, the ultra-conservative led Supreme Court overturned the key decision that allowed women to control their bodies, families, economic freedom, and their futures… and the GOP extremists want to go further.
They’ve reignited their call for a national abortion ban to block a woman’s right to choose in every state in the country, including Washington. The Supreme Court has also agreed to hear a case limiting access to the most widely used abortion medication.
We’ve seen the pain caused by the fall of Roe, and we can’t let this go on any longer. Nearly 70% of Americans believe that abortion should be legal, and we can’t stand by while anti-choice extremists make decisions that should be up to a woman and her healthcare provider.
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland proudly represents Washington’s 10th District. As the first Korean American woman and the first African-American to represent the Pacific Northwest in Congress, Marilyn made history. Now, she’s fighting for a fairer economy and a nation that is more safe, just, and secure.
