Today marks the anniversary of the 1972 Roe v. Wade decision, the landmark case that recognized the rights to privacy, self-determination, and access to abortion. On a day we should be celebrating, we are instead faced with a difficult reality: Almost two years ago, abortion rights were rejected by the Supreme Court.

Iowa's extremist governor and her MAGA friends in the legislature have already passed an abortion ban. That ban is currently stuck in the courts, but this is exactly why we need more Democrats in Iowa; to protect our rights.
