Folks, today is the anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade decision that for nearly 50 years, protected the constitutional right to an abortion.
I say nearly 50 years because as you likely already know, extreme Republicans packed the Supreme Court with conservative judges who then reversed Roe in 2022, opening the floodgates for anti-abortion restrictions across the country.
Since then, we’ve seen Republican lawmakers openly attack abortion access, propose barbaric legislation to invade the privacy of abortion seekers, and criminalize abortion health care providers.
But we’ve also seen a glimmer of hope for what’s to come of anti-abortion politicians.
You see, every single time abortion has been on the ballot since Roe was overturned, it’s handily won over the anti-abortion position — even in so-called “red states” like Ohio, Kansas, Kentucky, and Montana — and that’s because of community organizing.
Local activists are leading the fight against anti-abortion extremism, mobilizing voters to protect and restore the fundamental right to an abortion.
At Groundwork Project, we’re proud to have committed $3 million in the past year to frontline organizers in states where abortion rights are most at risk, and that’s all possible because of this grassroots team’s support.
My call to action for you today is if you're able to, donate to help us continue expanding and sustaining our investments in crucial organizing efforts happening across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains.
Your contribution on this solemn anniversary will help us build a better future where everyone, no matter their zip code, can access safe and quality abortion care:

Thank you,
