With snow coming down, schools in the area closing, and winter weather warnings in effect, we made the difficult decision to cancel our planned counter-protest at last Friday’s March for ‘Life’ in Washington, D.C.
We were saddened to cancel this event, but will always put people’s safety as a top priority.
We can’t say the same for March for Life organizers and leaders who barreled forward with a blatant disregard for life, putting the safety of their own staff, volunteer members, and DC government employees at risk.
True colors on display.
Though their theme was “With Every Woman, For Every Child,” we’ve seen their work before: bullying people outside health centers, shaming people for their decisions, and yelling at doctors.
No one should have to face this kind of intimidation.
We look forward to taking our message (safely!) to the streets in future direct actions.
