Today would have marked the 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that secured the right to an abortion. When I was marching for reproductive rights during my college years or when I was deciding when to start my own family, I never expected that the young women of today would have fewer rights to bodily autonomy than my generation.

The Supreme Court's radical decision to overturn Roe v. Wade threatens the autonomy, safety, and dignity of generations of women. As the mother of three sons, I know that nothing is more fundamental than the right to choose when to start or grow a family.

Now more than ever, we must stand up for our privacy and bodily autonomy. The stakes couldn’t be higher in this election, and the choice couldn’t be clearer. With MAGA Republicans determined to pass a nationwide abortion ban, our only choice is to take back the House and elect leaders committed to restoring the right to an abortion nationwide.

Make no mistake, this race is crucial for protecting our freedoms. My opponent has said that he wants to ban all abortions - even in cases of rape or incest. As the Representative for Washington's 6th Congressional District, I will work tirelessly to restore our reproductive rights and resist attempts to roll back progress.
