John, I won’t BS you, this isn’t
good.

One of our opponents—who reports having $35 million in the bank—has
already reserved five times the TV ads we have. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip in right
now so we can ramp up our own ads?

I really count on supporters like you, because unlike every other Democrat
in this race, I have always rejected contributions from corporate PACs. I
don’t want their money. I’m committed to standing up to big corporations
and fighting corruption.

But to get that message out there, we need millions of Californians to see
our new TV ad and hear about our plan to shake up the Senate.

John, thank
you for being a vital part of this campaign. It’s because of your support
(and thousands of other grassroots supporters) that we’ve even been able
to run this campaign.

[ [link removed] ]Now, I’m asking if you will make your first contribution to support
this campaign and help us reach the voters who will decide the upcoming
primary election in just a few weeks.

I want nothing more than to continue standing up to corruption and special
interests in Washington. But, the reality is if I lose the upcoming
primary election, my time in Congress would come to an end.

Thank you for considering,
