“What we have learned from this growing drumbeat of opposition to citizen-initiated ballot measures from elected officials is that they continue to innovate, they continue to get more creative at how they want to deny voters the opportunity to vote on these questions”

PROTECT DIRECT DEMOCRACY

Team,

Last month, our Executive Director, Kelly Hall, talked with Politico about the conservative playbook to try to take away voters’ voices.

Ballot measures allow voters nationwide to divorce issues often coined as “progressive” from partisan politics and ideologies and take power into their own hands to create the changes they want to see in their communities.

But as we’ve seen time and again, conservatives are attacking the ballot measure process. Whether through state legislation or misleading ballot measures like we saw in Ohio last year, they are working to strip away the power of direct democracy in every way they can.

We won’t have it. Our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign (BMRC) helps us fight against attacks on the ballot measure process. Will you join our fight by donating today?

Direct democracy is an important tool for communities nationwide — and obstructionist politicians should not be able to halt this democratic process simply because they don’t like the results.

This is about making sure all our voices are heard. Help power up our battles against any threats to direct democracy by rushing a contribution today.
