Today is the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision, and it’s met with many emotions.There is a long list of fears, anger, and concerns I hold, no doubt.

I’m also incredibly angry that because of Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans’ extreme anti-abortion agenda, these fundamental rights have been ripped away. But I want to also take a moment to celebrate everything we have fought for together and won since it was overturned.

I want to celebrate the 48 pro-choice Democratic mamas we endorsed last cycle who were elected to serve.

These mamas refused to back down. In fact, they stepped up for all of us. It’s important we honor these incredible accomplishments today, which impact thousands of lives of constituents they touch.

Read that again: these 48 pro-choice Democratic mamas, who grassroots supporters like you help elect, impact thousands of people.

These candidates fought hard and their message resonated with voters. They won because grassroots supporters like you believed in them and had their backs as they took on GOP extremists. That is pretty amazing, and it centers me in this work and our mission of electing pro-choice Democratic moms up and down the ballot.

Today, I want to celebrate the fact that 3 in 5 Americans believe that Roe v. Wade being overturned has been bad for the country. Americans, so rarely in agreement around any issue, are overwhelmingly in agreement that abortion should be legal.

We are the majority and Americans across the country are on our side. Last year, voters delivered huge wins for abortion rights in Kansas, Ohio, and Virginia, and they won’t forget this when they go to the ballot box in 2024.

This is the most important election year of our lifetimes and we know our Vote Mama candidates have what it takes to win— but only if they have enough resources behind them.
