Our country used to be covered in lush green forests from coast to coast. Nature ran wild and trees bigger than you could wrap your arms around were the norm.

But today, the vast majority of old-growth forests have already been logged.

We have precious few groves of old-growth trees left standing. We need to protect them before logging kills our oldest trees.

Tell the Biden administration: Protect old-growth forests now.

It's time to defend our oldest trees before they're lost forever. Twenty logging projects are targeting mature and old-growth forests around the country, and that's just the beginning.1

Without strong protections, the logging industry could keep mowing down our forests acre by acre until there's nothing left of our oldest trees.

We can't lose these special forests. Walking through groves of trees whose tops are too tall to see is an unparalleled experience. Trees that have stood for over a lifetime are sacred.

Some have been growing for centuries. When our forests fall, we lose entire ecosystems of plants and critters that depend on them. Pine martens, snowy owls and grizzly bears lose their homes.

Don't let trees come crashing down around wildlife.

For decades, the U.S. Forest Service has sold off our oldest trees to logging companies. But now we have a chance to turn things around and keep our forests intact.

The U.S. Forest Service could protect old-growth trees from logging for the first time ever. Their latest proposed policy would keep old-growth forests across the country from being cut down.2

Our voices are powerful. Last summer, we rallied together with voices all over the country and delivered 500,000 comments to the U.S. Forest Service, demonstrating broad support for safeguarding our forests. They listened to us and are putting forth a plan to protect trees just like we asked.

But to get this across the finish line and overcome the fierce opposition of the logging industry, we need to show up in full force for this comment period.

The U.S. Forest Service will soon decide whether or not to protect our oldest forests from logging. Add your voice before the Feb. 2 deadline.
