Claremont Institute’s American Military Project Director Testifies Before House Oversight Committee

“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) initiatives no longer pose a threat to America’s national security. Indeed, the “posing” ended a while ago; the threat has been made real. Race quotas are in, merit is out. China and Russia cannot believe their luck. This is why the Claremont Institute has been fighting back.

Earlier this month the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing of crucial importance to America’s safety through its Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs. Claremont’s own Will Thibeau, Director of the American Military Project at our Center for the American Way of Life, was invited to give testimony before Congressional leaders on the dangers of progressive ideologies in the U.S. military. Thibeau warned of the dire consequences of the military’s politicization, particularly the prioritization of DEI and racial preferences at the expense of merit.

As Will noted, “objective military professionalism is now seen as one factor among many that allows leaders to “comprehensively” evaluate a person, system, or policy; this, of course, being a euphemism for considerations of race and sex.”

As we have pointed out in the past, American military excellence—once the envy of the world—has been degraded by external social forces that undermine military’s readiness and focus. Our American Military Project is devoted to uncovering, exposing, and fixing the woke incursion into our armed forces.

Will concluded his testimony with a note of caution: “History is littered with examples of militaries whose consideration of political ideology precipitated a collapse in military professionalism, all of which served as a precursor to the collapse of their respective nations.”

The mission of the Claremont Institute Center for the American Way of Life is to refute woke doctrines, reclaim America's institutions, and form a new Right.
