John: Today marks 51 years since the landmark decision of Roe v. Wade was passed. For nearly half a century, the right to an abortion was constitutionally protected – until it wasn't.
The fall of Roe v. Wade was only the beginning of a long, horrifying journey of securing bodily autonomy. People are being forced to continue pregnancies they either did not want or that directly threaten their health and safety (like Florida woman Anya Cook), as restrictions and outright bans to abortion have gone into effect in dozens of states.
Marginalized communities are struggling to access reproductive health care more than ever before. Medical professionals are fleeing states with abortion bans. The situation has never been more dire. But there's hope.
The Florida Women's Freedom Coalition is working across the aisle and on the ground to get abortion on the ballot through a constitutional referendum. We firmly believe that government interference in health care is a gross infringement of our right to privacy, and we have the support of the majority of Floridians on our side.
So far, we've helped collect enough petitions to qualify for the ballot. But now we have to get out the vote. Our campaign is now a full-fledged GOTV operation, and we're going to need more resources than ever before. So please, on this special occasion of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, will you make a donation toward our efforts to secure abortion rights in Florida once and for all?

We're deeply grateful for your support. Thank you for taking action when it matters most.

We believe the freedom to make your own healthcare decisions is important to Floridians in every walk of life, every faith, and across the political spectrum.
