51 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that women have the right to make their own reproductive care decisions.

Sadly, it has been almost 2 years since this decision was stripped away by Donald Trump’s extreme judges, allowing politicians to take away a woman's power over her own life. Extremists in power will stop at nothing to ban abortion nationwide. But the thing is – they are no match for the will of the American people.

JOHN, we can’t let up in the fight to codify Roe into federal law. Can you chip in anything you can so we can take back the House and ensure women have the right to make their own healthcare decisions?

One thing I know for certain is that extremist politicians should not be controlling anyone’s healthcare decisions. I’m always going to work to protect the right to choose – which is why I helped pass the Reproductive Privacy Act to codify Roe into RI state law and will continue to fight until it is codified into federal law.

Looking ahead, we must elect a pro-choice majority to Congress this year to halt all extremist efforts to pass anti-abortion legislation nationwide. The Rhode to this majority starts right here in Rhode Island – and I know that together we can fight to protect abortion access at the federal level.
