Roe v. Wade should be be 51 years old today. For more than a generation, women in our country knew that they could make their own decisions regarding their reproductive health. But since the Dobbs decision in June 2022, abortion rights have been under attack all across the country.
In Pennsylvania, the right to reproductive healthcare access is on the ballot this year. The only thing standing between Pennsylvania women and the dangers facing women in other states that have banned abortion is the one-vote Democratic majority in the State House, including my hotly contested seat. If the Republicans take control of our State House, they will ban abortion rights in Pennsylvania.
As an emergency physician, I have seen first hand the dangers of not having appropriate access to reproductive healthcare. I have delivered babies and told women they have lost their pregnancies. I even have had a patient come into my emergency department and almost die after a back alley abortion.
Nearly two years ago, the US Supreme Court threw out Roe v Wade, putting the lives of millions of women at risk .
As a physician-legislator, I will always stand up to preserve access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion - a right that women knew was protected for decades and must continue to be protected in Pennsylvania. Can you stand with me by donating to my reelection campaign? [[link removed]]
