Here’s a timely reminder for us all: Abortion rights are human rights.
Well, tomorrow should be the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade. It should be a day that reminds us of how far we’ve come – of our meaningful victories in the ongoing fight for equality and autonomy for all.
Instead, this generation is being forced to grow up without Roe’s protections.
Instead, people are dying because Republican politicians have decided to deny them life-saving care.
So here’s a timely reminder for us all: Abortion rights are human rights. Abortion rights are a kitchen table issue. And abortion rights are ON THE BALLOT this November.
The stakes this year could not be any higher.
We have an opportunity to vote out anti-abortion extremists and vote in pro-choice Democrats – especially pro-choice Democratic women! – who are committed to codifying the rights of Roe at the federal level and making sure no one is banned from accessing life-saving health care.
I know it’s not going to be easy. I’m facing a well-funded MAGA opponent who opposes abortion under all circumstances, and there are candidates just like him on ballots in practically every state, determined to put a nationwide abortion ban in place.
But if there’s one thing that’s been made very clear by women and progressive voters all across America, it’s that we will not go quietly when it comes to our bodies and our freedoms.
I’ve seen what we’re capable of when we channel our grief and anger into action and activism – just look at what we did in 2018, 2020, and 2022!
