Folks — Thanks to the support of this incredible grassroots team, in 2012, I became the first openly gay Senator elected in our nation's history. I’ll tell you more about how I got here in just a moment, but first I have to ask:
Will you help me continue to break barriers and make a difference in peoples’ lives by pitching in toward my reelection campaign today? We have a competitive race ahead of us, and I would love to count on your support.

From an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in public service. But I feared that living my authentic life openly might prevent me from exploring the field of my dreams.
When I saw how courageous others in the LGBTQ+ community were about coming out, living their truth, and being public about who they are and who they love, I knew I could do the same. I could run for office and still be true to myself.
So, that’s what I did. Then, I eventually became the first openly gay Senator in our nation’s history.
But I didn’t run for office to make history — I ran to make a difference. So each day, I show up ready to work hard and make a lasting impact on people’s lives — and we’ve made a lot of progress over the years, from expanding affordable health care and lowering the cost of prescription drugs, to protecting same-sex marriage with my Respect for Marriage Act.
The progress we’ve made is on the line as far-right Republicans roll out an extreme, out-of-touch agenda and plot a Senate majority takeover by defeating vulnerable incumbents like me. That’s why I need your support today.
Will you pitch in any amount today to help me stay in the fight and keep making a difference?
Thank you for standing with me.
— Tammy
