It was another busy week working on important issues facing our state, our nation, and the world. Rest assured, I am fighting each day to keep our communities safe and uphold the values of our district. Read below for an update on my work serving you.

Protecting Texans from the Border Invasion

This week, I introduced crucial legislation to combat the Democrat-created crisis at our southern border. Our state is not equipped to deal with the influx of millions of illegal immigrants who put a significant strain on our public resources. From physical safety to financial wellbeing, this invasion on American soil is taking a toll on Main Street. My legislation works to combat the further decline of access to public resources and prevent lasting damage to our workforce while using confiscated drug money seized by Customs and Border Protections to provide relief to states that are forced to protect their borders while Biden ignores the crisis.

Passed Legislation Denouncing Biden’s Failures at Our Southern Border

This week, House Republicans passed H. Res. 957 denouncing the Biden administration's open-border policies, condemning the national security and public safety crisis along the southwest border, and urging Biden to end his administration's deadly open-border policies. Voted Against Another Reckless Continuing Resolution

Securing our nation and putting an end to reckless government spending are my top priorities in Congress. This week, I voted against another continuing resolution, the third so far this Congress. We cannot keep kicking the can down the road and continue the out of control government spending that is plaguing hardworking families and businesses on Main Street. It’s past time we finish the wall, restore law and order, and secure our nation.

Standing with the Most Vulnerable Among Us

I was honored to receive an ‘A+’ rating on the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America National Pro-Life Scorecard. I am proud to call myself a Christian and conservative leader and I believe that every life is a precious gift from God. During my time in Congress, I've worked to protect the most vulnerable among us, voting at every opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood and prevent federal funds from being used in the barbaric act of abortion. I will always stand strong in the ongoing fight to protect our future generations. Read my full release here.

House Committee on Small Business Hearing

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, yet access to capital remains a top concern for Main Street. I led a hearing where entrepreneurs, including Shark Tank's Kevin O’Leary, shared testimony of what needs to be done to ensure small businesses can more easily access capital to grow their businesses. House Financial Services Committee Hearing

The House Financial Services Committee held a hearing examining the international financing of nuclear energy. In order to maintain our foothold as a powerhouse in the energy industry, we must continue to utilize an 'all of the above' energy approach. We must also ensure that as a global leader in energy, we do not allow bad actors like Russia and China to dominate nuclear construction. Energy security is national security.
