Fourteen years ago today, the Supreme Court decided Citizens United v. FEC. The case overturned century-old campaign finance regulations, allowing corporations and special interest groups to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence our elections.

It's hard to overstate what a disaster this has been for working people and for our democracy, friend.

Our government should be for the people — not for the corporate interests that have hollowed out our Heartland.

Since the Citizens United decision, super PACs and other dark-money groups have spent billions to influence our elections. The flood of corporate money in politics has made our democracy less transparent, more corrupt, and less responsive to the needs of working people in communities like ours.
