Hi Name,
Now that we’re less than 9 weeks from Election Day, our team of supporters is growing rapidly. So, I’d like to take the opportunity to re-introduce myself!
I’m Qasim Rashid, human rights lawyer, author, and dad joke aficionado, and I’m running for Congress here in my home district of IL-11. My family immigrated from Pakistan to the United States when I was five years old and settled in DuPage County, where I spent the rest of my childhood.
During high school, I ran track and cross-country at Glenbard South, then continued my running career at North Central College, ultimately earning a degree from UIC. With the encouragement of my wife Ayesha, I went on to earn a law degree to advance my human rights advocacy for marginalized communities.
As a human rights lawyer, I have seen firsthand how this country’s laws and systems unfairly work for those who already have money and power, and leave everyone else behind.
That’s exactly why I’m running for Congress. It’s time to demand justice and ensure that the government works for everyone.
I want to fight for the community that raised me, and I want you and your family to have a true advocate in your corner.
But, I can’t do this without your help. I’m running against a 16-year, corporate-funded incumbent – and we know that winning will be an uphill battle. We’re going to win this race with people power, and I need you with me if we’re going to do it. With less than 9 weeks left until Election Day, can you make a contribution right now to help power us to victory?I’m honored you’re with me, now let’s win this race.
Sincerely,
– Qasim
