As the first week of candidate filing comes to a close, over 300 Democrats in South Carolina have filed to run for office. Will you join these candidates in fighting for affordable health care, broadband access across the state, our coastline and environment, and for a better South Carolina? WE NEED YOU.

After five days of open candidate filing, 304 Democrats have filed to run for office. Interested in joining them? You still have time to represent the voices of those in your community and run for office in 2020 -- filing will remain open for the next 10 days.

So far, a total of 304 Democrats have filed to run for office in South Carolina.

— 205 Democrats filed to run for county office, clerk, school board, sheriff, corner, or audito
— 66 Democrats filed to run for State Representative
— 27 Democrats filed to run for State Senator
— 5 Democrats filed to run for U.S. House of Representative
— Jaime Harrison filed to run for U.S. Senate
