Friend,
Coronavirus is changing a lot, but my team and I are still working.
Over the last week, I lobbied and worked with the Administration to move the
federal tax day back to give Nebraska families and small businesses one less
thing to worry about.
Today, there's a sliver of good news: President Trump ordered his Treasury
Department to give each taxpayer an automatic 90-day tax extension from the IRS.
That means — because of coronavirus — federal tax day is now July 15th.
It’s hard to stay on top of all the news that’s coming out, but this is one of
those things I wanted Nebraskans to know about.
America doesn't have time for the petty, partisan debates that Washington
typically spends so much time on, but we do need more common-sense policy to
help us in this fight — and, that’s what this federal tax-deadline extension is.
I’m glad to have partnered with President Trump to get this change across the
finish line.
The new normal is hitting Nebraska families hard, but we’re gritty people —
and we’ll keep working to get through this.
-Ben
