Today, we're highlighting a particularly horrendous bill in Texas that would make it nearly impossible to get a safe abortion.
When Texas-native Kate Cox was told by her doctor that she needed to have an abortion to protect her health – she ran into a problem: Texas’s cruel anti-abortion laws made it impossible for her to get one.
She could either risk her life or travel outside her home state to find healthcare.
Her struggle led to a historic lawsuit that challenged the severity of Texas’s new abortion laws.
Kate's case is not just about legal technicalities; it's about the real, human cost of abortion bans. These laws force individuals to carry nonviable pregnancies, leading to physical and emotional trauma. They strip away the right to make deeply personal medical decisions, often with life-altering consequences.
