This week, Houthis attacked our commercial and military ships in the Gulf of Aden. And it’s just the latest example of global conflicts impacting our military readiness here and abroad.

Yet Rep. Jack Bergman continues to let us down on veterans and military issues.

Rather than doing everything in his power to ensure the U.S. military is up to the challenge, Bergman has spent his time in Congress playing politics. Just this week he voted against keeping the government funded and running. Before that, when Sen. Tuberville spent 10 months blocking more than 400 crucial military appointments, Bergman supported his obstruction.

This is all to the detriment not just to our service members, but also to our national security.

You can’t vote to not fund the government, refuse to work with your colleagues, and then complain that the government isn’t working.

You can’t use our service members and veterans as political pawns and call yourself a veterans' champion.

With rising tensions around the world putting our national security at risk, we must have strong leaders who will prioritize our nation over their own agenda.
