Friends,

During the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to give you an update about what this means for Washington state and the steps Kim is taking to keep our families safe and healthy:

Last weekend, Kim and her House colleagues passed an economic relief bill to help families and businesses impacted by this crisis. This legislation, which includes Kim's bills to require insurance companies to cover the cost of testing and provide states greater flexibility to administer child nutrition programs, was signed into law on Wednesday. Read more about the aid package and Kim's bills here.

During this time of uncertainty, Kim believes it's important that the public hear the facts about COVID-19. That's why she appeared on K5 to discuss the outbreak and what our state and federal government are doing to protect our families. Click here to watch the full segment.

Kim joined other Washington state members of Congress in writing a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to warn of the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) that health care workers need to combat this pandemic. In the letter, they urged Secretary Azar to fulfill the state's PPE request from the Strategic National Stockpile to ensure we are protecting those on the frontlines of fighting this outbreak.
