There is some good news on the climate change front. In 2023, America’s carbon emissions actually fell while the economy grew for the first time since the pandemic started.
The new data shows that our efforts to reduce carbon emissions are working. In fact, we managed to cut emissions faster than we did during the 2010s.
We’re back to emitting like the 1990s - even with an economy nearly 4x its size! But the truth is, these achievements would not have been possible without the tireless leadership of our SEEC Members in Congress who passed the largest investment to fight climate change in American history. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act are working when it comes to solving climate change.
