Friend, it might be hard to believe it, but today, we're officially one year away from the presidential inauguration.
It is not an exaggeration to say that 2024 is the most consequential election year of our lifetimes. All of the values and rights that we care about are at stake here: reproductive freedoms, protections for working families, Social Security, affordable health care, LGBTQ+ rights, a strong and equitable economy, voting rights and even our democracy itself.
If we allow Donald Trump to win, he'll have free rein to push his hateful agenda and further weaken our democracy. If we allow his MAGA extremists to destroy our Senate majority, they'll spend every minute in power working to undo the progress that we've made and send our country backwards.
But if we reelect President Biden and defend our Senate majority, we can put a stop to Trump's comeback campaign, stop MAGA extremism and build a brighter, better future for our country.
The road ahead of us isn't easy. There are 23 must-win Democratic seats on the ballot — including mine. And far-right megadonors are ready to bankroll attack ads against us. But I know that this team has what it takes to beat the odds every single time.
Your grassroots support is at the heart of all our successes: You flipped the House in 2018. You elected President Biden, defended the House and flipped the Senate in 2020. You are the reason that we defied historic headwinds to not only defend but also expand our Senate majority in 2022.
I am so incredibly grateful for you and everything that you have done. But now, as the election year begins, I need you to have my back again.
